It is hard to find the right size briefcase.  Like a Made To Measure suit, the briefcase is no different.  The right feel in your hand, proportion to your body and the sweet spot it sits when strapped around your shoulder should all be taken into consideration. For example, we added shoulder strap D-Rings on the top and side gussets because we know you are always adjusting the hang of the briefcase from your shoulder.  In the winder time when you have a big coat on you might not want to carry it messenger style with the side D-Rings so you just have it hang on your shoulder with the top D-Rings.  The 14" x 10" size is just right to fit most modern devices or paperwork and the 2.5" depth doesn't come out too much to be obtrusive.
